Put your real volume in. See the real bill.

Two numbers — how many utility and marketing messages you send a month — are enough to price WhatsApp exactly. This calculator shows your WABAPI cost next to what a typical subscription platform charges for the same volume, and tells you plainly whichever way the comparison goes.

WABAPI is ₹1,287.50 a month cheaper at this volume — the subscription's platform fee costs more than its lower marketing rate saves.

The maths, written out

On WABAPI every message spends credits, and one credit costs ₹0.25. A utility or authentication message spends 1 credit (₹0.25); a marketing message spends 5 credits (₹1.25). Your monthly cost is therefore:

(utility msgs × ₹0.25) + (marketing msgs × ₹1.25) — and nothing else.

A typical subscription platform bills two lines instead: a fixed monthly platform fee of ₹1,500–2,499, plus per-message rates of roughly ₹1.09 for marketing and ₹0.145 for utility (typical rates as of August 2026). Note both directions of that trade: their fixed fee is money you pay even in a month you send nothing, but their marketing rate is lower than ours per message.

That is why there is a crossover. At low or seasonal volume the fee dominates and WABAPI is clearly cheaper. Send enough marketing messages every single month — very roughly 10,000 to 15,000, depending on the plan — and the subscription's lower marketing rate pays back its fee. The calculator does that arithmetic for your exact numbers rather than rounding it in our favour.

All WABAPI rates already include the Meta conversation charge, and undelivered messages are credited back automatically. The full price list is on the pricing page.

Calculator questions, answered

How does this calculator work out the WABAPI cost?

It multiplies your volume by the published credit rates: a utility or authentication message costs 1 credit and a marketing message 5 credits, at ₹0.25 a credit. So 500 utility messages cost 500 credits (₹125) and 1,000 marketing messages cost 5,000 credits (₹1,250). There is no platform fee, so the message cost is the whole bill.

Where do the subscription platform numbers come from?

They model the typical Indian subscription platform as of August 2026: a monthly platform fee of ₹1,500–2,499 plus per-message rates of about ₹1.09 for marketing and ₹0.145 for utility. Individual providers differ, which is why the fee is selectable — put in the quote you actually have.

Is a subscription platform ever cheaper than WABAPI?

Yes, and the calculator will tell you when. Subscription platforms usually charge less per marketing message than we do (around ₹1.09 versus our ₹1.25), so once you send enough marketing messages — very roughly above 10,000 to 15,000 a month, every month — their lower rate outweighs the monthly fee. Below that, or with seasonal volume, the fee dominates and WABAPI is cheaper.

Are there charges the calculator leaves out?

Not on the WABAPI side. The credit rates already include the Meta conversation charge, and there is no setup cost, per-user seat fee or number-hosting fee. The only things the calculator cannot know are on the other side — some subscription plans add onboarding fees or charge extra per agent seat.

What if my volume changes month to month?

That is exactly when prepaid credits help. Credits are only spent when a message goes out, so a quiet month costs ₹0 — whereas a subscription fee is due whether you send or not. Credits from a pack stay valid for 12 months, so buying ahead of a busy season is safe.
